Job Summary

TPF Recruitment is working with a long-established and well-respected accountancy practice to recruit an Accounts Assistant / Junior Accountant.

The firm was founded in the late 1960s and has built a strong reputation for delivering high-quality accountancy taxation and business advisory services. They support a diverse client base primarily across London and Kent and are known for their professional client-focused approach.

With decades of experience the practice prides itself on providing a consistently high standard of service. The team is professionally qualified and includes members of the ACCA (Association of Chartered Certified Accountants).

Role Description

Our client is looking for an enthusiastic Accounts Assistant / Junior Accountant to join their growing team. This is an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience within a supportive and collaborative environment.

Your responsibilities will include:

Assisting with bookkeeping data entry and bank reconciliations
Preparing and filing VAT returns
Helping prepare management and financial accounts
Liaising with clients via phone and email
General administrative support within the accounts team
Assisting with the preparation and submission of MTD ITSA returns

Requirements

What were looking for

A keen interest in accountancy and finance
Confident communication skills and a willingness to learn
Proficient IT skills particularly Microsoft Office. Experience using accounting software such as QuickBooks/Xero/FreeAgent is desirable
Willingness to embrace technology and learn new systems
Organised and able to prioritise tasks to meet deadlines
GCSEs/A-levels or equivalent (AAT study preferred but not essential)
