Role Overview
Good Shepherd International School (GSIS) a leading international residential school offering IB IGCSE ICSE & ISC curricula is seeking a dedicated and physically fit Badminton Coach to develop student athletes promote sporting excellence and support holistic student development.
The ideal candidate will be energetic disciplined and capable of coaching students across age groups while maintaining high standards of safety professionalism and student engagement.
(Female candidates are preferred to support boarding and student welfare requirements.)
Key Responsibilities
Coaching & Training
Plan and conduct structured badminton coaching sessions for beginners to advanced-level students
Develop technical skills fitness agility and match strategies
Identify and nurture talented players for inter-school and competitive tournaments
Design age-appropriate training programs aligned with student fitness levels
Competition & Performance
Prepare teams for inter-house inter-school district and state-level competitions
Conduct regular performance assessments and provide constructive feedback
Track student progress and maintain basic training records
Student Development & Discipline
Promote sportsmanship discipline teamwork and resilience
Support the overall physical and mental well-being of students
Act as a positive role model for students in behaviour and professionalism
Safety & Compliance
Ensure safety standards during training and matches
Follow school safeguarding child protection and POCSO guidelines
Maintain equipment and ensure proper use of sports facilities
Boarding & School Life
Support residential sports programs and evening practice sessions
Coordinate with boarding and academic teams for student schedules
Participate in school sports events camps and activity programs
Candidate Profile
Essential Requirements
Certification or formal training in Badminton coaching
Prior experience coaching school or academy-level players
Strong technical knowledge of badminton rules techniques and match play
Physically fit and energetic capable of active on-court coaching
Ability to motivate and manage students across age groups
Strong discipline reliability and professional conduct
Preferred Criteria
Female candidates preferred (for boarding and student support requirements)
Experience in residential / international school environment
Experience preparing teams for competitive tournaments
Ability to handle both recreational and high-performance training
Basic first-aid / sports injury management knowledge
