The Senior Pricing Analyst will ensure that all pricing information market positioning analysis and pricing models are maintained for the Small and Medium-sized Enterprises (SME) markets for gas and electricity in order to ensure the companys billing and quotation systems provide accurate competitive and timely pricing information to both internal and external stakeholders and customers. They will report to the Senior Product & Strategy Development Manager.
The Senior Pricing Analyst will provideexpertiseon SME pricing and ensure the absolute accuracy of all SME pricing information and systems within the Customer Business as well as providing insight and analysis of products and market position. More specific responsibilities include:
- Develop andmaintainpricing models for all SME gas and electricity products and tariffs
- Develop andmaintainthe quotation systems used toacquireandretaincustomers ensuring accuracy of all pricing information and systems
- Producetimelycompetitor analysis by tracking competitor offers analysing position and reporting on these to management
- Support SME in optimising competitive positioning by defining and recommending the most competitive pricing comparisons from the wide variety of available pricing options
- Support the SME Senior Product & Strategy Development Manager in setting pricing strategy by advising on pricing alternatives to deliver target margin contribution and defining associated impact on competitive market position
- Make recommendations to the SME Senior Product & Strategy Development Manager and to the Head of Business Marketing on future strategies
- Provide input to SME Product Development activity by making recommendations on pricing positions & structures that will optimise individual products competitive advantage and collaborating with multi-discipline teams from across the business
- Provide the SME sales channel with all comparative informationto sell and market our products and tovalidateall such comparisons and associated qualifiers
- Ensure that Marketing are provided with SME pricing information to produce any necessary literature particularly at pricing milestones such as price changes
- Ensure that information for Customer Service staff is made available toassistthem in dealing with pricing enquiries from SME customers
- Knowledge of Customer Business SME pricing and tariffs
- Advanced spreadsheet modelling skills
- Highly numerate and analytical
- Proventrack recordof precisionaccuracyand attention to detail
- Good communicator with effective influencing skills
- Commercial awareness to understand implications of input cost pricing and competitive market movements
- Good understanding of electricity and gas markets
- Experience with Gorilla pricing system is desirable but not essential
- Familiarity with SAP and PowerBI is advantageous
- Graduate education in a numerate or business related subject preferred but not essential
- Highly numerate and analytical with high attention to detail
- Computer literate with advanced spreadsheet modelling skills
- Self-motivated and proactive approach to work
- Good communicator with effective influencing skills
- An orientation towards teamworking is essential
