Job Summary

The Culina Group Senior Management Accountant undertakes a key role to partner in the delivery and development of the functional Culina Group Head Office cost centres including finance processes controls and reporting. An important role in helping to deliver a quality service to key stakeholders pushing finance knowledge and skills down through management layers to improve overall financial capability and accountability.

The role is the key finance interface for Group directors of IT HR Finance Facilities as well as other head office functions.

Key responsibilities of a Senior Management Accountant:

  • To build trust and confidence in the numbers reported to key stakeholders and their teams
  • Continue to build on the centralisation of IT procurement to ensure transparency of numbers reported
  • Ensure the finance processes around the centralisation of IT and Facilities are well managed
  • Producing timely relevant and accurate management information as well as explaining variances to plan
  • Working collaboratively with stakeholders to build budgets and forecasts and ensuring that variances are fully explained and understood
  • Influencing stakeholders where required to ensure that finance objectives are delivered including reporting and planning deadlines
  • Deliver the finance reporting cycle in line with Group requirements (to include Weekly WD6 Flash WD10 month end consolidation and WD12 SAP upload files)
  • Outline and report financial trends especially vs Budget and year on year that impact on the companys ability to deliver budget
  • Assist in the preparation of the annual financial statements and assist in the external audit process meeting group deadlines
  • Assist with modelling and submitting the budgets and reforecasts as required by Group
  • Be an active part of the management team ensuring the voice of Finance is heard
  • Manage and develop the Assistant Management Accountant managing all staff issues as necessary
  • Be aware of the Muller GO system of financial control and adhere to it (as a minimum)

Qualifications :

  • Supporting the Group Head Office stakeholders in the management of actuals budgets and forecasts through timely delivery of financial reports.
  • Driving the consolidation of the Group IT and Group Facilities budget extracting elements from each Business Unit into one Group budget.
  • Preparation and explanation of all inter-group recharges.
  • Contributing to the quarterly reforecast process supporting each Business Unit to revise forecasts to the same level of granularity as the Budget process
  • Complete monthly reporting including variance analysis for key stakeholders to allow insight to feed into decision making. This will include the creation and maintenance of monthly finance reports highlighting the following:
  • Actual expenditure vs Budget
  • Actual expenditure vs latest Forecast
  • CapEx tracking supporting the PMO
  • Creating 3 year OpEx impact tracking (e.g. CapEx impacts RPI impacts Contract reductions).
  • Some functions will require more detailed reporting than others specifically IT.
  • Analysis of systems and processes including identification of functionality gaps in system and/or processes.
  • Ensuring that SAP transactions are recorded accurately including accruals prepayments and recharges.
  • Assist in the realisation of ad hoc projects and promote continuous improvement activities (e.g. process re-engineering and process improvement where applicable).
  • Establishing ways of working with key stakeholders and their teams being clear who is accountable and responsible for delivering what in order to meet the broader team objectives.
  • Attending regular meetings with key stakeholders to update on performance of relevant business area.
