Are you ready to be our Commodity Chemical Specialist

We are looking for a Commodity Chemical Specialist with primary purpose to manage and swiftly respond to business related to commodity chemicals ensuring that all quotes/orders are complete competitive and inline with customer requirements. The role demands a deep understanding of the market a keen eye for detail and the ability to think outside the box to handle the varied nature of each enquiry. The Specialist will play a critical role in driving the companys growth by securing new business through effective communication pricing strategies and relationship management with both customers and business partners.

Who you will work with:

The Commodity Chemical Specialist reports to the Customer Service Manager and closely co-operate with the Commercial Manager Sales Operations and interacting with customers to understand their needs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Handle incoming enquiries/orders with urgency ensuring that all customer requests are acknowledged and processed promptly.
  • Evaluate the feasibility of each enquiry and provide competitive quotes.
  • Liaise with business partners to determine the most feasible way to deliver the product on board and inline with local regulations.
  • Develop long-term relationships with customers.
  • Follow up on open quotes converting them into confirmed orders.
  • Maintain strong relationships with business partners.
  • Stay informed about market trends.
  • Provide insights to the Commercial Manager
  • Manage orders from quote to delivery coordinating with relevant teams to ensure timely order fulfilment.
  • Maintain accurate records of all quotes and orders in our CRM.
  • Generate regular reports.
  • Track customer history and adjust strategies
  • Organized and well structured

What you need to be successful in this role:

  • Bachelors degree in business Shipping or a related field is preferred.
  • Prior experience in a similar role within the shipping industry.
  • Deep understanding of shipping and port operations.
  • Strong analytical skills to assess market conditions and pricing strategies.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
  • Proficiency in salesforce (or similar) and MS office.
  • Fluent in English - both writing and speaking.
  • A proactive motivated and positive attitude with the ability to easily adapt to business changes and learn new processes quickly
  • Computer literate (experience in system environment) strong Excel skills
