Job Summary

Required knowledge skills and abilities:

Demonstrates comprehensive knowledge of fire management principles including fire prevention preparedness suppression mobilization demobilization and dispatching procedures. Possesses expertise in the Incident Command System (ICS) National Incident Management System (NIMS) personnel management equipment operations and interagency authorities to support resource movement and emergency response coordination.

Required to complete NWCG training and certification at a level appropriate to the complexity and responsibilities of assigned duties. Possesses practical experience in wildland fire management and dispatch operations applying established procedures and business practices to ensure effective incident response and continuous operational improvement. Maintains proficiency in fire suppression techniques equipment operation resource logistics and safety protocols to support efficient multi-agency emergency operations.

Communicates clearly and professionally with internal staff agency leaders and external partners both orally and in writing. Delivers training and technical guidance supports team members and facilitates collaborative operations across agencies to ensure effective implementation of emergency plans and procedures.

SPECIAL INFORMATION: Candidates must be eligible to work in the United States. A valid drivers license is required with less than 12 conviction points in the most recent completed 36 months.

Job Overview:

This position is based at the Northern Rockies Coordination Center and supports the Operations Section of the Geographic Area Coordination Center (GACC). Responsibilities include facilitating the movement of interagency aircraft personnel crews and equipment across and between different geographic areas for wildland fire and all-hazard emergency responses. The role involves close collaboration with the Federal State and other land management agencies to ensure effective coordination and mobilization of resources. The employee reports to the DNRC Assistant Center Manager and the NRCC Center Manager who oversee daily work assignments and the administration of the coordination center

Operations/Logistics Coordinator:
As a Coordinator this position manages the mobilization reassignment and release of firefighting and emergency resources to incidents responding to shifting fire conditions and evolving priorities throughout the Geographic Area.

Center Operations:
Provides advanced technical expertise and operational guidance to internal and external entities in support of mobilization planning resource movements fire readiness and emergency planning. The incumbent ensures the effectiveness of emergency response plans and fosters the ongoing cooperation and interagency coordination necessary for state local and federal agencies engaged in fire protection fire suppression and all-hazard emergency operations
