JOB OVERVIEW:

The Ending the HIV Epidemic (EHE) Prevention Coordinator is responsible for serving as a technical assistance provider and project support to sub-recipients of Federal Ending the HIV Epidemic funds to improve HIV care outcomes. The Coordinator uses standardized tools to identify barriers to successful program implementation shares the identified barriers with DHH colleagues and leadership and delivers technical assistance to programs based on evidence-based improvement modalities. The Coordinator collaborates with DHH staff including the Program Services Unit when providing technical assistance. The Ending the HIV Epidemic (EHE) PS24-0047 Prevention Coordinator liaises between DHH units to advance deliverables related to PS24-0047 activities across DHH. This person will maintain grant implementation timelines and ensure timely reporting as required under PS24-0047. The Coordinator will also ensure along with the EHE Advisor the integration of CDC PS24-0047 and PDPH DHHs existing portfolio of HIV care prevention and surveillance in local EHE efforts. The Coordinator will participate in activities with the CDC Joint Monitoring Team. The Coordinator reports to the Prevention Program manager who will provide regular supervision meetings and review of work products.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Meet ongoing with diverse stakeholders to inform them of EHE progress.
  • Serve as a liaison between DHH teams and units.
  • Serve as liaison between DHH and external partners including but not limited to:
    • PDPH STD Control
    • HIV POC Testing Providers
    • Unfunded and funded collaborative members
  • Provide oversight of local prevention evaluation initiatives.
  • Manage the PS24-0047 workplan and deliverables to ensure timely program completion.
  • Assist in coordinating local state and federal progress reporting.
  • Manage the review for the prevention-related RFP process.
  • Provides technical assistance as needed for prevention and EHE activities.
  • Participate in HIPC workgroups and EHE subcommittees.
  • Coordinate capacity building for providers.
  • Coordinate with other local service systems.
  • Coordinate with the EHE Advisor on the integration of CDC and HRSA Funds.
  • Attend and conduct meetings with agency and departmental officials to discuss problems and policy issues related to PS24-0047.

SKILLS:

  • Knowledge of High Impact and Combination HIV Prevention
  • Ability to summarize HIV prevention literature and publications for management
  • Organizational skills
  • Written and oral communication skills

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Completion of a bachelors degree program in public health or a related field at an accredited college or university required
  • Preferred: Completion of a masters degree program in public health or a related field (may count toward one year of public health program or HIV care management experience)
  • Four years of experience in a public health program required
  • Preferred: Experience conducting program management activities in an HIV prevention setting or delivering HIV prevention/care and case management services
