JOB PURPOSE
The Meals on Wheels Coordinator/Driver is responsible for ensuring effective and compassionate delivery of home-delivered meal services to eligible clients while supporting daily program operations. This position serves as both a driver and an administrative coordinator providing direct meal delivery support and assisting with client intake service continuity and communication between clients caregivers case managers and internal staff. The role works closely with the Meals on Wheels Manager to maintain efficient service address client needs and ensure excellent program operations with dignity and respect.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Meal Delivery and Driving 50%
- Loading unloading preparing inspecting and operating delivery vehicles safely
- Transporting and delivering meals and essential items to clients in a timely and respectful manner
- Reviewing items prior to delivery to ensure quality and freshness
- Abiding by all transportation laws safety regulations and maintaining a clean driving record
- Wearing The Just One Project branded clothing while in the community
- Monitoring vehicle wear and tear and reporting maintenance needs promptly
- Escalating unsafe vehicles driving conditions or delivery concerns to the Meals on Wheels Manager
- Providing real time feedback on route barriers client needs and delivery challenges
Client Coordination and Program Administration 50%
- Reaching out to clients based on referrals to assess eligibility gather intake information and explain program services
- Serving as a liaison between clients caregivers social workers and case managers to support broader client needs
- Monitoring client wellness and service satisfaction reporting significant changes in condition or service needs
- Responding promptly to client inquiries concerns or delivery issues with empathy and professionalism
- Supporting route coordination and adjustments when the Meals on Wheels Manager is unavailable
- Tracking meal counts delivery statistics client changes and program documentation for reporting
- Assisting with contingency planning to ensure uninterrupted service during emergencies severe weather holidays or disruptions
- Maintaining accurate and confidential client records in Salesforce or other systems
- Any other job duties as assigned
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- High school diploma or equivalent (required)
- 1 year of Non- Profit Experience (preferred)
- 3 years of professional driving experience with box trucks vans or other large vehicles (required)
- 2 years of administrative client services preferably in a social services or community-based organization. (required)
- Proven driving experience with a clean driving record (required)
- Bilingual in Spanish (preferred)

WORK SCHEDULE & EXPECTATIONS
- This is a Temporary full time position approximately 40 hours per week from 3/1/2026-11/30/2026
- Standard work schedule is Monday-Friday 7:00 am - 3:30 pm with flexibility as needed.
- Occasional on-call or emergency support may be required.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
- Must attend six mandatory Pop Up & Give events per year
- Must possess valid unrestricted drivers license and reliable transportation
- Must possess or be willing to obtain a valid Food Handlers Card
WORK ENVIRONMENT AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS
- Ability to sit use hands and fingers talk or hear continually.
- Ability to stand walk reach push pull regularly and for extended periods of time.
- Ability to climb or balance stoop kneel or crouch regularly.
- Must be able to lift push pull etc. efficiently and on a regular basis.
- Ability to work in fast paced active environment
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs
- Frequently exposed to various controlled and uncontrolled weather conditions
