Crown Lands is seeking a motivated Assistant Spatial Analyst to maintain and enhance Crown land spatial data systems to achieve government priorities in the management of the Spatial Asset Register and associated web applications and databases. Youll work alongside experienced spatial professionals contribute to impactful projects and help shape the way spatial information supports decisionmaking across the organisation.

What youll be doing

  • Spatial analysis & map production: Create accurate visually compelling maps and spatial outputs that support internal clients and business needs.
  • Data extraction & manipulation: Work with corporate databases to extract transform and deliver reliable information to both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Application development support: Assist in designing testing and refining spatial data maintenance and viewing applications to ensure theyre practical efficient and userfriendly.
  • Training & documentation: Develop training materials and deliver sessions to Crown Lands staff helping build capability and confidence in spatial tools and applications.
  • Spatial Asset Register maintenance: Use transformation tools and customised applications to maintain and update spatial data ensuring it meets operational requirements.
  • Quality assurance: Conduct accuracy checks on the Spatial Asset Register and associated datasets to uphold data integrity.
  • Configuration documentation: Keep application and database model configuration documents up to date and accessible for all users.

About You

  • Demonstrated experience in the use of GIS technologies
  • Demonstrated experience in the delivery of GIS training and/or provision of technical support to users
  • Demonstrated experience with corporate databases
  • Someone who enjoys problemsolving thrives in a fastpaced environment and has a genuine interest in spatial data and technology
  • Attention to detail and a willingness to learn from experienced colleagues while contributing your own ideas.

Essential requirements

  • Tertiary qualifications in Science Surveying or relevant Engineering fields and/or equivalent professional experience
  • Current driver licence and willingness to travel
