Job Title: Pediatric Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) Float Pool
Location: Syracuse NY
Shift: Night Shift (Mix of 8-hour and 12-hour shifts)
Schedule: 40 hours/week (80 hours biweekly)
Assignment Type: Contract
Weekend/Holiday Requirement: Every other weekend; some holidays required
Pay Rate: Up to $27/hour (Approx. $1000/week)
Position Summary
Navitas Healthcare LLC is seeking a compassionate and reliable Pediatric Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) to join a Pediatric Float Pool within a Level I Trauma Hospital. This role supports pediatric patients across multiple units and requires flexibility strong clinical skills and a patient-centered approach to care.
Key Responsibilities
Provide direct and indirect patient care to pediatric patients including:
Obtaining and documenting vital signs
Assisting with bathing feeding toileting and mobility
Supporting patient comfort and safety
Serve as a safety companion for at-risk patients as needed
Demonstrate understanding of pediatric growth and development
Collaborate with nurses and interdisciplinary care teams to meet patient needs
Maintain accurate documentation and communicate observations effectively
Adhere to hospital policies safety standards and patient-centered care practices
Participate in quality improvement initiatives and professional development activities
Required Qualifications
Active New York State CNA Certification
Ability to obtain or maintain CPR/BLS certification
Minimum 1 year of patient care experience
Prior experience in a Level I Trauma Hospital
Strong teamwork communication and interpersonal skills
Preferred Qualifications
Experience working as a safety companion
Pediatric patient care experience
Strong background in Activities of Daily Living (ADLs)
