What you will be doing:
In this role you will play a key part in supporting program operations by managing a variety of service closures such as when individuals no longer have Medicaid a PCA agency or worker a Care Coordinator or when they move out of state decline services or transition to long-term care.
You will process change-of-status communications for the department including updates to PCA providers Care Coordinators hospital admissions and discharges legal representative details recipient demographics living situations marital status and address changes. Daily responsibilities include monitoring Direct Service Messaging (DSM) for legal discovery requests related to mediations and fair hearings and responding promptly.

You will communicate regularly with legal representatives clients Care Coordinators PCA agencies supervisors and managers through phone and electronic channels. Additionally you will assist with mail processing including operating mail equipment printing monitoring the departments secure mailbox and handling returned mail by contacting agencies clients and Care Coordinators to resolve address issues.

The working environment you can expect:

This location is located in Anchorage Alaska
Team members and supervisors are located at 1835 Bragaw Street Suite 350 Anchorage Alaska. This location is convenient to numerous shops and restaurants. This position is scheduled for a 7.5-hour workday; start and stop time can be flexible between the hours of 7 am and 5:30 pm.


Hybrid Telework is possible with this position after training and approval from the Division Director.

Who we are looking for:

The ideal candidate will possess some or all of the following competencies in addition to meeting the minimum qualifications listed below:
  • Clerical: Knowledge of filing typing entering data maintaining records taking shorthand and using and completing forms.
  • Customer Service: Works with clients and customers (that is any individuals who use or receive the services or products that your work unit produces including the general public individuals who work in the agency other agencies or organizations outside the Government) to assess their needs provide information or assistance resolve their problems or satisfy their expectations; knows about available products and services; is committed to providing quality products and services.
  • Database Administration: Knowledge of the principles methods and tools for automating developing implementing or administering database systems
  • Information Management: Identifies a need for and knows where or how to gather information; organizes and maintains information or information management systems. Manages and Organizes Information: Identifies a need; gathers organizes and maintains information; determines its importance and accuracy and communicates it by a variety of methods.
  • Technical Competence: Uses knowledge that is acquired through formal training or extensive on-the-job experience to perform ones job; works with understands and evaluates technical information related to the job; advises others on technical issues.

High school diploma or the equivalent.
AND
One year of experience that includes clerical tasks such as greeting clients answering phones typing filing sorting mail entering data receiving payments making change or maintaining logs.

Substitution:
Education from an accredited college may substitute for the required experience (3 semester hours or 4 quarter hours equal one month of experience; 150 hours of vocational education equal one month of experience).

Special Note:
High school diploma equivalent means one of the following: 1) a G.E.D.; 2) completion of any basic adult education course equivalent to 480 class hours (16 weeks at 30 course hours per week); 3) acceptance in full standing by an accredited college or university; 4) highest grade of school completed plus an amount of paid or volunteer experience that totals 12 years and includes basic clerical tasks such as greeting clients answering phones typing filing sorting mail entering data receiving payments making change or maintaining logs.

Some positions in this class may require the incumbent to operate motor vehicles. Such positions require that the applicant possess a regular drivers license and be 18 years of age or older.

Some positions in this class may require skill in typing. Recruitment and selection may include this requirement.
