The Project Engineering Team Lead is responsible for overseeing and guiding the project engineering team to deliver high-quality customer projects on time within scope and within budget. This role involves managing the technical execution coordinating with cross-functional teams and ensuring that engineering deliverables meet company standards. The Project Engineering Team Lead will serve as both a technical expert and a leadership figure driving innovation and continuous improvement within the Customer Solutions Delivery department.
Objective 1 Leadership and Team Management
- Lead mentor and develop a multi-disciplinary team of engineers.
- Assign tasks and responsibilities to team members based on skills and project requirements.
- Foster a collaborative team environment ensuring effective communication knowledge sharing and professional growth.
Objective 2 Technical Project Management
- Oversee multiple customer engineering projects from concept through completion.
- Develop detailed project plans including timelines resource allocation and budgets.
- Track project performance ensuring adherence to goals schedules and quality & compliance standards.
- Identify risks and implement mitigation strategies to ensure project success.
- Communicate project updates progress and challenges to senior leadership and stakeholders.
Objective 3 Technical Guidance
- Provide technical direction and support for project teams.
- Ensure engineering solutions meet industry standards safety regulations and client specifications.
- Conduct design reviews technical analyses risk assessments and feasibility studies to guide the team toward innovative solutions.
- Stay current on industry trends and emerging technologies incorporating best practices into project execution.
Objective 4 Stakeholder Management
- Collaborate with other departments (e.g. R&D production procurement quality) to ensure smooth project execution.
- Liaise with external clients vendors and contractors to ensure that engineering deliverables align with contractual requirements and expectations.
- Resolve any engineering issues that arise during the project lifecycle.
Qualifications :
About you:
- Proficient in 2D drawing and 3D modelling. A working knowledge of Solidworks is essential.
- 5 years industry experience in a design related role and 2 years in a team lead or management position. Experience in the food industry or similar is beneficial but not essential.
- Design for manufacture experience essential.
- A keen eye and appreciation for detail.
- Good communication skills both written and verbal.
- A proven problem-solving ability.
