Maintenance General Builder

Purpose
To maintain facilities buildings and utilities across all facilities and departments including building fabrics plumbing roofing interiors and minor ground / civil works.

Responsibilities

• Act in accordance with the behaviours for UTAC staff at all times
• Carry out maintenance & renovation as required.
• Planned preventative maintenance to buildings and structures.
• Reactive maintenance & repair of buildings & services.
• Risk assessments & method statements
• The builder is expected to work some overtime to complete essential intrusive maintenance to buildings and facilities.
• Adhere to Health & Safety regulations

Qualifications :

• GCSE grade 4 or above in Mathematics (Desirable)
• GCSE grade 4 or above in Science (Desirable)
• GCSE grade 4 or above in English (Desirable)
• Qualifications in carpentry building plumbing or civil works.
• Experience in general building works across multiple trades.

Core competencies:

• Ability to use and competence in the use of general hand / power tools (required).
• Excellent record-keeping skills are required along with basic computing skills (required).
• Must have the ability to learn specific practical techniques and apply this knowledge to solve problems and create solutions (required).
• Strong verbal written and interpersonal communication skills (required).
• Strong organisational analytical and problem solving skills (required).
• Experience within the general building trade.
