Position Overview
A leading financial services organization is seeking a Senior Power BI Developer with a strong background in SQL data warehousing and enterprise reporting systems. This role focuses on designing and developing high-quality dashboards paginated reports and ad-hoc analytics solutions using Power BI. The ideal candidate will work closely with business stakeholders and apply business analysis skills to deliver impactful data insights.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop Power BI dashboards canned reports and ad-hoc queries
- Collaborate closely with business users to gather requirements and translate them into reporting solutions
- Perform data modeling using Power Query and Power Pivot
- Develop optimize and maintain DAX queries
- Create reports using Power BI Report Builder and/or Paginated Reports
- Manage query and optimize data from SQL Server or other relational databases
- Analyze user requirements recommend solutions and implement enhancements
- Troubleshoot issues and provide timely resolutions in a fast-paced environment
- Participate in the full project lifecycle from design through deployment
Must-Have Skills
- Strong data modeling experience using Power Query / Power Pivot
- Advanced proficiency in DAX
- Hands-on experience with Power BI Report Builder and/or Paginated Reports
- Strong SQL skills particularly with SQL Server or similar relational databases
Nice-to-Have Skills
- Working knowledge of Power BI Dataflows
- Experience with Power BI Report Server (PBRS)
- Familiarity with Power On
- Experience working with Snowflake data warehouse
Qualifications
- 7 years of combined experience in data warehousing business intelligence analytics and reporting systems
- 3 years of experience in relational and multi-dimensional (OLAP) data modeling
- Advanced SQL expertise including relational and dimensional modeling and query optimization
- Strong domain knowledge in Fixed Income Equity and Derivatives
- Proven ability to analyze business requirements and implement effective solutions
- Self-driven with strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Experience working across the full project management and development lifecycle
- Excellent written verbal and presentation skills
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate effectively
- Ability to manage priorities and perform under high-pressure environments
