Job Summary

AECOM is seeking an experienced Field Site Manager to join our team.  The Field Site Manager will provide daily on-site leadership for construction health and safety and subcontractor operations. The ideal candidate has a strong background managing and overseeing heavy equipment operations and directing quality assurance specialists discipline specific inspectors and material quality inspectors. This position can be located in California Arizona New Mexico and Texas

Responsibilities will include but not limited to:  

Construction Quality Assurance

  • Lead a team of quality assurance specialists  
  • Monitor and Report Contractors work sequencing equipment use labor force activities and daily production goals to maintain schedule and quality.
  • Oversee and confirm strict adherence to the Contractors work plans construction specifications delivery schedules safety and security protocols.
  • Document material utilization against Contractors monthly pay requests
  • Support Project Managers review and timely response to Contractor RFIs
  • Support Client / Owners issuance of Non-Compliance Reports and support follow-up with Corrective Action Plans
  • Support Project Managers engagement with regulatory personnel stakeholders and utility owners.
  • Develop and submit timely daily reports
  • Coordinate fleet vehicles with Fleet Manager for routine maintenance and accident reporting.

Health & Safety Leadership

  • Serve as the on-site AECOM safety lead enforcing AECOM safety policies and project-specific Health and Safety Plans for AECOM personnel and AECOM subcontractor personnel.
  • Conduct daily tailgate meetings site-specific training and hazard assessments (including heavy equipment confined space fall hazards and radiological controls).
  • Correct unsafe behaviors and conditions immediately and escalate issues to project management when needed.
  • Maintain compliance with applicable federal (OSHA) and/or state regulatory requirements as appropriate for the specific job.

Project Planning & Documentation

  • Support development and execution of Field Sampling Plans QAPPs SSHPs and project work plans.
  • Maintain daily logs production reports safety records equipment logs and subcontractor documentation.
  • Assist in preparing progress reports regulatory documentation and closure reports.
  • Coordinate with regulatory inspectors and client representatives during field activities.

Coordination & Communication

  • Serve as the on-site point of contact between Contractors project managers safety staff and client representatives.
  • Participate in project scheduling constructability reviews and planning of field mobilizations/demobilizations.
  • Communicate daily progress changes and issues to project management and regulatory partners.

Qualifications :

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelors degree and 6 years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.  
  • Experience on linear infrastructure projects such as highway railway pipeline and transmission corridor type projects.
  • Experience with government/federal projects
  • Due to the nature of the role US citizenship is required

Preferred Qualifications

  • 15 years of experience with federal projects
  • Experience working with complex multi-stakeholder field sites.
  • Strong background supervising field crews subcontractors and heavy equipment operations.
  • OSHA 40-Hour HAZWOPER certification.
  • Strong understanding of field safety heavy construction techniques and environmental/radiological controls.
  • Ability to create clear daily logs field reports and documentation.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and proactively

Additional Information :

  • This position requires the ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance. Employment is contingent upon successful completion of an enhanced background investigation which may include but is not limited to verification of employment and education a criminal history review drug screening and a Motor Vehicle Records (MVR) check as applicable. Ongoing compliance with clearance and background requirements is a condition of continued employment.
  • This position requires on-site colocation in Contractor provided field offices during working hours.
  • Candidate must be able to live within daily commute distance to the construction worksite.  A company vehicle will be provided for commuting on the construction site.
