Engineering Summer Internship
Are you looking for a 12-week summer Engineering Internship where you will learn invaluable engineering skills and gain real-life work experience with a FTSE100 organisation
Howdens have an exciting opportunity for undergraduates to join our manufacturing site in Howden East Riding of Yorkshire. Joining the UKs number one trade kitchen supplier you will work alongside industry experts where you will build experience and skills that will help you thrive in your early career. You will contribute to continuous improvement by developing and applying your engineering skills across projects ranging from 1k to 10m covering everything from production line enhancements to the installation of new processes and plant.

Our engineering placement programme is designed to give you valuable handson experience and skills with the potential to secure a permanent role through one of our graduate opportunities once you complete your studies.
What we can offer you:
As an Engineering Intern you will join us for the summer receive a pro rata salary of 24800 and work onsite 5 days a week. You will receive 25 days holiday plus bank holidays access to employee wellbeing support a free daily lunch at our onsite canteen and invitations to our exceptional reward and recognition events.
Am I eligible for this programme
- Our placement programmes are for university students currently studying towards a degree ideally in a mechanical electrical manufacturing or a related engineering field who are seeking a 3-month placement over the summer
- You must be able to undertake your placement for the summer of 2026
- You must live within a commutable distance to our Howden site
- Be a confident communicator and be able to work well within a team
- Possess excellent attention to detail with a natural desire to problem solve
- Be able to work collaboratively with others and be solutions-focused with a positive outlook
