Mission
Support the Monthey site leadership team to shape the Monthey sites asset strategy by anticipating product lifecycle transitions identifying assets released from products facing cost competition or declining volumes and matching them with opportunities from the R&D pipeline backward integration initiatives and supply risk mitigation strategies.
Accountabilities
- Maintain comprehensive knowledge of Monthey site AI production assets processes capacity constraints and current product portfolio to identify redeployment opportunities and strategic synergies.
- Develop and maintain strategic relationships with Supply Chain teams to anticipate asset availability and to identify incoming products from the innovation pipeline backward integration opportunities and supply risk mitigation needs.
- Own and continuously update the AIP asset strategy database ensuring data accuracy and accessibility to support evidence-based siting studies and scenario planning.
- Lead phase 2 siting studies for new products evaluating technical feasibility capacity fit capital requirements and risk scenarios. Ensure MSLT collective ownership of strategic options and seamless transition from phase 1 studies.
- Create forward-looking asset allocation scenarios (3-5 year horizon) that balance portfolio evolution capital efficiency and operational constraints presenting recommendations to MSLT.
- Collaborate with the Operational Excellence team to identify asset optimization opportunities that support continuous improvement initiatives and ensure alignment between strategic planning and operational execution.
Qualifications :
- Masters degree in Chemical Engineering Chemistry Process Engineering or equivalent technical discipline
- Knowledge of HSEQ standards and regulatory requirements applicable to chemical manufacturing
- Deep knowledge of chemical production unit operations and process design principles
- Understanding of capital project economics capacity costing
- Fluent in French (working language for Monthey site operations)
- Proficient in English (for global Supply Chain interactions)
- Minimum 5-7 years in chemical production operations or process engineering at a multi-product manufacturing site with demonstrated understanding of asset flexibility capacity constraints and production economics
- Proven experience in capital project evaluation siting studies product transfers asset repurposing or brownfield project implementation
- Track record of influencing senior leadership and cross-functional teams in matrix environments without formal authority successfully driving consensus on complex strategic decisions
- Experience working at the intersection of operations and supply chain understanding market dynamics product lifecycle management and long-term capacity planning
