About the Opportunity
Communications & Marketing Coordinator DZP
David Zwirner gallery seeks a Marketing & Communications Coordinator for its Paris gallery. The position reports into the Paris Gallery Director and works closely with the directors of Communications and Marketing to ensure close collaboration and consistency across all regional and global locations.
The ideal candidate will have at least three to five years of related experience in marketing and public relations ideally within the arts museum and cultural institutions landscape. Superior communication skills the ability to work independently manage time and meet deadlines and the ability to work with multiple teams are required. This position will involve contact with artists curators collectors and vendors; therefore discretion professionalism fluency in both French and English as well as superb client-facing skills are essential.
What youll do:
Press:
- Plan and implement strategic press campaigns for the Paris gallery in a wide range of top local and national media including print online TV and radio for Paris exhibitions in collaboration with our Paris press agency.
- Serve as the primary liaison between the Paris press agency the Paris gallery and the London and New York-based Communications team.
- Organize and manage press previews for Paris exhibitions.
- Act as point-person for day-to-day media requests pertaining to the Paris gallery.
- Support EU museum exhibition press and marketing campaigns including acting as the primary liaison between gallery and museum marketing teams.
- Work with the NY Research team to create and confirm Paris exhibition press releases.
- Work directly with our translator to translate press releases and any other press materials.
- Inform DZ staff and gallery artists of key published media placements in real-time.
- Maintain and cultivate media relationships for the Paris gallery via meetings at media outlet offices lunches gallery tours etc.
- Partner with the NY comms teams to implement regional press campaigns and mailings for David Zwirner Books.
Marketing:
- Partner with New York marketing teams to plan and support exhibition campaigns and assets including ads web pages marketing emails collateral and beyond.
- Own and manage marketing budget for DZP exhibitions in partnership with department directors and contributors.
- For select exhibitions serve as MarComms Lead acting as primary liaison to Gallery Director Sales/Artist Management leads responsible for communicating key updates & deadlines on behalf of MarComms securing updates and approvals and communicating relevant updates to partnering colleagues.
- Serve as primary liaison between gallery and all Paris/EU vendors including publishers print vendors etc.
- Manage advertising channel reporting in partnership with NY Marketing and Digital Marketing teams.
- Support public and private events at DZP as needed in collaboration with DZP Events lead front desk and Operations teams.
- Act as point person for DZP exhibition assets and onsite photography as needed.
What we would like you to have:
- BA or Masters degree in Art History or Communications preferred.
- 3-5 years of related experience in a gallery museum art institution luxury house or PR agency.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Fluency in both French and English.
- Proficient in Microsoft Word Excel etc.
- Google workspace and Notion familiarity are a plus.
