In this role you will act as the main point of contact for private groups using City of Edmonton facilities. You will be responsible for delivering a great customer service experience for groups while thinking on your feet in a variety of unique attractions. You will use your calm diplomatic demeanor to ensure groups use the facility in a safe and enjoyable manner. If you like problem solving with a smile this opportunity may be for you.
What will you do
- Act as primary day-of contact for private bookings on behalf of the facility
- Deliver a great customer service experience for private groups and their guests
- Facilitate safe fun and appropriate use of facilities
- Use standard office equipment computers and two-way radios
- Act upon all customer comments and complaints in a prompt friendly manner
- Provide minor first aid when needed
- Perform basic administrative duties including emails word processing data entry
- Work independently and collaboratively as part of a team
- Perform other duties as assigned
- Completion of Grade 12 or high school equivalent
- Experience in general office practices or completion of an appropriate certificate program from an approved school/college
- Experience in customer service and computer applications
- Possession of current Standard First Aid CPR Level C and AED certifications are required prior to commencement of employment
Assets:
- Experience in customer service and computer applications
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Experience in Intelligenz booking software Google Suite Programs
- Ability to speak a second language
- Experience working as an event host or a similar role
- Pro-Serve and Pro-Tech Certification through the Alberta Gaming and Liquor Commission
Skills required for success:

Work Environment:
- Due to the nature of this work this position is not eligible for a hybrid work arrangement
- The weekly hours of work for this position are currently under review and may change at a future time. Any changes will be made in accordance with the City of Edmonton/Civic Service Union 52 collective agreement and the incumbent will be notified in advance
- The candidate must be available to work evenings and weekends; this is a mandatory requirement of the role.
- This role works in both indoor and outdoor settings in various locations
- This is a public-facing role and requires engagement and interaction with diverse people from various backgrounds with different needs expectations and emotional states
