Job Description

• Own monthly close financial statements and reporting for leadership visibility and decision-making
• Lead job cost accounting WIP schedules and profitability reporting by project
• Manage AR/AP workflows billing collections and vendor/subcontractor payables
• Oversee progress billing and pay apps including AIA-style billing where applicable
• Drive cash flow planning and forecasting to support project execution and growth
• Maintain internal controls clean reconciliations and accurate financial records
• Partner with PMs and leadership to improve cost tracking variance analysis and project financial discipline
• Support annual audit/tax coordination and provide documentation as needed
• Help evaluate and improve systems and processes (construction accounting software and workflows)

Qualifications

• 4 years in accounting/finance leadership (Controller Assistant Controller Accounting Manager with full close ownership)
• Strong preference for construction accounting experience: job costing WIP progress billing change order impacts project margin tracking
• Strong Excel skills and comfort building clean repeatable reporting
• Experience managing small accounting teams or owning end-to-end accounting operations
• College degree preferred (Accounting/Finance); equivalent experience welcomed
• Construction ERP/accounting system experience preferred (any of: Sage Viewpoint Jonas QuickBooks Enterprise etc.)
• Detail-oriented hands-on and able to communicate clearly with non-finance stakeholders
• Local to Mansfield CT area and able to work on-site
• Permanent U.S. work authorization required (no sponsorship)
