The Controller serves as the organizations primary accounting officer responsible for executing all day-to-day financial operations and producing accurate timely financial information. This is a hands-on role encompassing the full accounting cyclefrom transaction processing through financial statement preparation and board reporting. The Controller leads the annual audit process and presents financial results directly to the Board of Directors while partnering with the fractional CFO on compliance grants oversight and strategic financial matters.

Education
Bachelors degree in Accounting Finance or related field
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelors degree in Accounting Finance or related field
Minimum 6 years of progressive accounting experience including hands-on responsibility for complete accounting cycles
Demonstrated experience preparing financial statements and managing audit processes
Strong understanding of GAAP and nonprofit accounting standards (ASC 958)
Proficiency with accounting software (QuickBooks and QuickBooks online preferred)
Advanced Excel skills including financial modeling and analysis
Excellent written and verbal communication skills with ability to present financial information clearly to non-financial audiences including board members
Preferred
Experience in nonprofit accounting particularly with grant-funded organizations
Familiarity with federal grant compliance (2 CFR 200 Uniform Guidance)
Experience with Single Audit requirements
