Overview:
A well-established insurance agency is seeking an experienced accounting professional to step into a leadership role as the current Head of Accounting prepares for retirement. This is a hands-on position ideal for someone who enjoys managing day-to-day accounting operations while leading a small team in a collaborative agency environment.
Location: Fresno CA (Hybrid in-office TuesdayThursday)
Salary: $80000$120000 (commensurate with experience)
Key Responsibilities:
Oversee and manage all accounting operations for the agency
Lead and support a small accounting team (2 direct reports)
Prepare and review producer statements and commissions
Manage payroll processing and related reporting
Ensure accuracy timeliness and compliance across financial processes
Partner with leadership on financial reporting and operational needs
Support system usage and optimization within AMS360
Qualifications:
Prior accounting experience within an insurance agency strongly preferred
Experience using AMS360 highly desirable
Proven ability to manage accounting functions and supervise staff
Strong attention to detail with the ability to work independently
Comfortable in a hybrid work environment with consistent in-office presence
Work Environment:
Hybrid schedule with required in-office presence Tuesday through Thursday in Fresno
Small agency setting with broad responsibility and visibility
