The Business School is the largest School in RMIT Vietnam with approximately eight thousand students on two campuses (Ho Chi Minh Saigon South and Hanoi). The school has three departments more than 130 academic staff four research fellows and 25 Professional terms of programs there are four bachelor programs two PGCert programs two Master programs and two PhD programs. Each department has one program and the fourth program has nine majors supported across the departments. The school is one of five schools of the RMIT College of Business and Law Melbourne.
There are six research clusters in the school three hubs and a forward plan will seek to conflate this structure to a Digital technologies centre and sustainability cluster with Tourism and Hospitality spanning both domains. The expertise and research foci of the school are blockchain cryptocurrencies cybersecurity smart cities sustainability and these contribute to the four RMIT pillars for research.
Recent growth areas have been in research and corporate education (AACSB accreditation is expected in 2025). Staff are currently transitioning into semester teaching whilst the school maintains three intakes and delivery. A new workload allocation framework is now applied to accommodate these developments.
BUSINESS INNOVATION AT RMIT
RMIT Vietnams Bachelor of Digital Marketing not only equips students in traditional marketing competencies such as market research and brand management but also develops digital-based marketing skills needed in todays changing business environment skills like maximising digital channels mobile marketing and keeping abreast of new digital marketing trends.
POSITION SUMMARY
The Associate Lecturer/Lecturer will be required to teach and conduct classes in disciplines relevant to their field of expertise and assist in the academic and administrative consultative and coordination tasks involved with these courses. Functions associated with the position include presentation of lectures and tutorials assessment of students and course administration in line with the Universitys quality assurance requirements. The Associate Lecturer/Lecturer will work under support and guidance to develop expertise in teaching with an increasing degree of autonomy.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITY
Teach at a level appropriate to skills primarily at undergraduate and graduate diploma level including: assisting in assessment design; conducting assessment; course evaluation activities; gather and use student feedback to inform improvement of teaching effectiveness.
Participate in University governance activities as requested and undertake administration related to the position.
OUR REQUIREMENTS
A PhD in Marketing Communications or a closely related discipline is essential. A Master degree in the relevant discipline may be considered with significant teaching and industry experience.
For Associate Lecturer or Lecturer teaching Digital Content Creation demonstrated creativity and advanced knowledge of digital content development photography videography copywriting and content planning. Proficiency in tools such as Adobe Creative Suite and social media analytics platforms is highly preferred. Experience in event planning social media marketing and digital strategy is an advantage.
For Associate Lecturer or Lecturer teaching Digital Marketing Communications Social Media & Mobile Marketing courses demonstrated expertise in digital marketing strategies social media platforms mobile marketing and content engagement approaches is essential. Industry experience in executing digital marketing campaigns is preferred.
Demonstrated ability to prepare and teach programs at undergraduate and postgraduate levels including online delivery and to design and deliver high-quality engaging curriculum or program materials.
Demonstrated capacity to work effectively with and to negotiate sensitively with students particularly on matters related to effective learning and academic development.
Ability to work autonomously while showing a strong commitment to teamwork including the demonstrated ability to collaborate confidently and effectively with colleagues project leaders and industry partners.
Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines and manage varying workloads effectively responding to evolving priorities as required.
Demonstrated high-level written and verbal communication skills with the ability to engage and motivate students.
Proven record of contributing to positive student outcomes enhancing the student learning experience and receiving favourable feedback; underpinned by strong experience and skill in a teaching context.
Ability to inspire motivate and support students and colleagues through demonstrated disciplinary expertise and a commitment to academic excellence.
Ability to model and promote behaviours aligned with RMITs Behavioural Capability Framework (Connectedness Commitment to Excellence Improve and Simplify; Imagination and Innovation; Impact; Inclusion; Agility).
English Proficiency
English is the language of teaching and communication at RMIT Vietnam. For this role the minimum requirement is IELTS Academic 7.0 and with no band less than 6.5 (or equivalent).
For Academic Teaching Staff English Language Proficiency may be proven by showing completion of Ph.D. and/ora Masters qualification whilst being instructed through the medium of English supported by the experience of teaching in an English-speaking environment for the past 24 months.
