TITLE: Supervisor of Facilities Maintenance and Improvement
QUALIFICATIONS:
1. High school diploma or above
2. Minimum of five years of full-time experience in construction
3. All work experience should relate to physical plant operations and maintenance with institutional experience being most desirable
REPORTS TO: Director of Physical Plant or Designee
SUPERVISES: Staff assigned to the district maintenance and facilities operations
JOB GOALS: To develop and implement effective and efficient systems for facilities maintenance and improvements while ensuring maximum return on investment for all facilities resources.

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Ensure safe operational maintenance of all facilities
- Develop and implement short and long term facilities improvement plans for each facility
- Oversee all construction projects valued at less than $100000 in the school system
- Establish priorities and construction maintenance and operation schedules to maximize use of personnel and materials
- To work with principals and custodial personnel to maintain a high standard of safety cleanliness and repair in the schools;
- Consistently demonstrate self-direction
- Schedule and supervise maintenance workers in repair installation maintenance and alteration of buildings and physical plants
- Review and schedule work orders and maintenance requests for all crafts and balance man-power requirements with man-power availability.
- Schedule and supervise grounds keepers in the maintenance and all improvements to grounds and equipment
- Schedule and supervise preventive maintenance on buildings and facilities
- Maintain the highest knowledge of professionalism in maintenance construction safety environmental shipping and receiving fields;
- Schedule and supervise custodial staff during non-school time frames (i.e. summer months etc)
- Respond to school district emergencies after hours and/or weekend
- Evaluate and purchase maintenance supplies ground supplies and custodial supplies and equipment
- Train and review actions of personnel: make appropriate recommendations regarding such personnel matters as selection discipline and termination
- Provide technical assistance to administrative departments on problems related to existing facilities
- Assist in building inspections and data collecting to determine necessary repairs/improvements
- Assist in developing a budget for the department
- Assist in developing departmental procedures and policies
- Act upon leave requests and maintain time reports and leave records
- Maintain a safety program as required
- Enforce safety rules and regulations
- Establish standards of work skills equipment and materials for the department
- Provide assistance and services to other departments as needed
- Demonstrate good people skills
- Work effectively with school personnel staff and contractors
- Observe and/or evaluate personnel assigned by the Superintendent or Superintendents designee
- Submit accurate records and reports promptly
- Establish and execute a professional growth and self-evaluation plan
- Exhibit professional ethics
- Carry out responsibilities as delegated by the Rapides Parish School Board
- Perform any additional duties as assigned by the Superintendent and/or evaluator
