We are seeking an experienced organised and proactive School Business Manager (SBM) to join a busy primary school in Birmingham starting ASAP. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who is passionate about school operations finance and administration and who thrives in a dynamic collaborative environment.

The SBM is a key senior team member responsible for the strategic and operational management of the schools non-teaching functions ensuring efficiency compliance and high standards across finance administration and site management.
As the School Business Manager you will oversee the schools financial management staffing administrative systems and operational policies. You will work closely with the Headteacher and leadership team to support strategic decision-making and ensure the school runs smoothly and effectively.
Key Responsibilities
Oversee the schools financial planning budgeting and reporting
Manage payroll invoicing and financial records in line with school policies
Ensure compliance with statutory requirements including safeguarding health and safety and GDPR
Lead the administrative team providing guidance and support for daily operations
Monitor and manage school resources including procurement and contracts
Support HR processes including staff recruitment contracts and performance management
Contribute to school strategic planning and reporting to governors
Maintain effective communication with staff parents suppliers and external agencies
Ensure the smooth running of the school site including premises and facilities management
Promote a positive professional and collaborative working environment

Have significant experience in school management finance or senior administration
Possess strong financial management and organisational skills

Be confident using financial and administrative software
