Job Title: Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) Pediatric Float Pool
Location: Syracuse New York
Contract Duration: 15 Weeks
Shift: Mix of Day and Extended Shifts
Schedule
Shift Type: Mix of 8-hour and 12-hour shifts
Shifts per Week: 45 shifts (totaling 80 hours every two weeks)
Hours per Shift: 8 or 12 hours
Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
Holiday Coverage: Some holidays required
Trauma Level: Level I
Position Summary
A healthcare organization in Syracuse NY is seeking an experienced Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) to join the Pediatric Float Pool. This role provides direct patient care to pediatric patients across multiple units and requires flexibility attention to detail and the ability to work in a fast-paced pediatric acute care environment.
Responsibilities
Provide direct patient care to pediatric patients including feeding hygiene and mobility assistance
Assist nursing staff with daily clinical tasks and patient care activities
Monitor and report changes in patient condition to RN or LPN
Support patients and families with comfort safety and emotional care
Assist with patient transfers admissions and discharges as needed
Adhere to infection control policies patient safety standards and regulatory guidelines
Float to multiple pediatric units as required based on staffing and patient needs
Participate in Level I trauma care as needed
Required Qualifications
Active Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification
Minimum pediatric clinical experience preferred
Experience in a trauma or acute care setting preferred
Ability to work flexible shifts including every other weekend and holidays
Strong communication teamwork and patient-centered care skills
