Matrimonial/Family Law Associate Attorney
We are expanding our Matrimonial Department and seeking an Associate Attorney with 7 10 years of experience in matrimonial and family law to join our Brooklyn office. This role offers meaningful responsibility across the full litigation lifecycle regular court appearances and direct client interaction.
The position is ideal for an attorney who is confident managing matrimonial matters independently while working closely with a collaborative legal team in a fast-paced well-resourced firm.
Key Responsibilities:
- Draft and prepare pleadings motions deposition materials and briefs
- Appear in Supreme Court and Family Court throughout the tri-state area
- Manage matrimonial and family law matters from intake through resolution
- Develop and execute cost-effective litigation strategies
- Review new files and assess case coverage and strategy
- Manage a substantial caseload while meeting deadlines and maintaining attention to detail
- Track case status and assist in managing court appearances calendars and client matters
- Zealously represent clients in divorce custody child support and related family law matters
Qualifications:
- Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school
- 7 10 years of experience in matrimonial and family law
- Admission to the New York State Bar required
- Superb legal writing and advocacy skills
- Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities
- Demonstrated flexibility and ability to prioritize effectively
- Strong interpersonal and client-communication skills
- Collaborative mindset with a proactive can-do attitude
- Comfortable working with senior management and colleagues across departments
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Outlook
- Experience in a family/divorce clinic judicial internship or clerkship is a plus
