About the Department
The Cardiac Investigation Unit at St Vincents is an innovative cardiac catheter laboratory with a focus on interventional cardiology. The unit functions as part of a multi-disciplinary team that offers the full range of cardiac diagnostic services. The unit operates Monday to Friday with an on-call roster operating for the Registered Nurses.

About the Role
The Grade 2 Registered Nurse under the guidance of the Nurse Unit Manager or Associate Nurse Unit Manager will be responsible for the delivery of expert clinical care in his/her specific area. The Grade 2 Registered Nurse will be responsible for ensuring his/her own professional development in order to maintain clinical skills and knowledge.

Classifications for this position will range from YP3 - YP9 ($69253.60 - $92601.60 pro rata per annum).

Duties

  • Managing the physical and emotional well-being of the patient
  • Administration of medication in accordance with hospital procedures protocols and policies
  • Assist with medical and diagnostic procedures carried out in the unit
  • Document observe and report relevant nursing findings within the framework of nursing progress
  • Liaise with patient patients family medical and ancillary staff as required or requested

Skills Qualifications and Experience

  • Degree in general nursing which meets the registration requirements of the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia
  • Current Nursing Registration with AHPRA
  • Cardiology experience is essential
  • Cath lab experience is highly regarded
  • Display excellent communication skills and be competent and confident in managing acute situations in a rapidly changing clinical environment
  • Demonstrate an ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
