Job Description
The Financial Aid Coordinator supports students throughout the financial aid process by serving as an initial point of contact for internal and external constituents. This role provides guidance on financial aid applications and awarding information in accordance with federal state and institutional policies and regulations while supporting outreach efforts loan processing activities and administrative functions within the Financial Aid Office.
Serve as the initial point of contact for internal and external constituents
Provide assistance with financial aid applications and awarding information including applicable policies and regulations
Organize gather and disseminate appropriate materials and information for student financial aid outreach including entrance and exit counseling and outside scholarship announcements
Perform tasks related to financial aid loan programs including the Federal Direct Loan Program and alternative loan programs
Maintain knowledge of eligibility and processing requirements for financial aid loan programs
Monitor transactions to ensure timely disbursement and return of loan funds
Perform tasks related to mandated monthly federal loan reconciliation
Maintain working knowledge of databases and systems required to perform daily functions including but not limited to COD NSLDS ELM and institutional systems of record
Maintain and update files databases records and documents
Perform routine analysis and calculations in the processing of data to ensure compliance with federal state and institutional regulations and policies
Investigate and resolve student issues and discrepancies
Provide general administrative assistance including office administrative support services maintaining student appointment schedules departmental email and voicemail and telephone support
Attend internal and external training and professional development opportunities as requested
Assist with departmental projects as needed
13 years of experience in customer or student services
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Demonstrated organizational skills and the ability to work independently and as part of a team
Knowledge of financial aid processes and procedures and the ability to adapt to change
Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications
Experience with a higher education ERP system preferred

In compliance with the New Jersey Wage Transparency Act the annual base salary range for this position is $41400.00 - $55200.00. This range represents the Universitys good faith estimate of possible compensation at the time of posting. Stevens Institute of Technology determines compensation based on factors including the positions scope and responsibilities the candidates experience education skills internal equity market data and organizational considerations. The final salary will be set considering departmental budget qualifications and relevant credentials. This pay range represents base pay only and excludes additional forms of compensation such as incentives stipends or other applicable pay components.
