As a Mechanical Engineer youll leverage your strong foundation in physics mathematics and materials science to process and resolve mechanical problems design and implement custom mechanical tooling and associated processes and enable the handling assembly and disassembly of parts components sub-assemblies and final assemblies throughout the product life cycle. Youll be responsible for designing developing and modifying mechanical engineering layouts schematics and specifications. You will oversee manufacturing and installation processes ensuring adherence to industry standards and regulations-- and youll coordinate the procurement and assembly of mechanical components and equipment for design projects identifying sources of critical parts and subsystems to resolve technical issues.Role
The Mechanical Engineer will serve as thetechnical expertsupporting multiple semiconductor lab facilities within the SCLA portfolio. This role provides engineering governance detailed technical review capacity planning commissioning leadership and lifecycle stewardship of complex facility mechanical systems. The Mechanical Engineer will collaborate closely with Facilities Operations Design & Construction EHS IFM partners andcrossfunctionalengineering teams to ensure safe reliable and efficient operations aligned with business needs.
This position reports directly to theDirector of Facilities & Engineering (SCLA).
Key Responsibilities
Engineering Leadership & Governance
Provide technical oversight and engineering review of mechanical designs Basis of Design (BOD) construction documents tool hookups system upgrades andfituppackages.
Review approve and stamp mechanical drawings and specifications (where applicable).
Develop and maintainsitespecificdesign criteria and mechanical engineering standards in collaboration with Facilities Operations EHS and D&C.
Perform root cause analysis (RCA) for mechanical system issues and develop corrective/preventive action plans.
Facilities Systems Management
Oversee mechanical systems for semiconductor facilities including:
Scrubbed exhaust systems
RO/DI
PCW
WWT
HVAC (MAU AHU chillers boilers cleanroom air systems)
BMS/SCADA controls and monitoring
Evaluate existing and emerging mechanical technologies to reduce operatingcost improve capacity increase redundancy and enhance system reliability.
Support critical system investigations and recovery actions to safely restore operations.
Commissioning & Startup
Lead commissioning effortsincludingprefunctionalchecklists functional testing integrated systems testing and acceptance for mechanical and utility systems.
Validatesequence of operations and ensure alignment with site requirements and codes.
Work with vendors and IFM partners to ensure proper turnover documentation includingas-builts SOOs O&M manuals balance reports warranty files and closeout packages.
Capacity Planning & Infrastructure Upgrades
Model system capacity redundancy and growth curves;identifyconstraints and propose expansion strategies.
Conduct building condition assessments develop lifecycle investment recommendations and support major asset replacements.
Identifyand execute safety compliance capacity redundancy andcost savinginitiatives across multiple facilities.
IFM & Vendor Oversight
Interact with and direct 3rdparty IFM providers to ensure proper operations and maintenance of mechanical FLS exhaust andcontrolssystems.
Validateadherence to SOPs PM programs and contract requirements.
Support incident investigations closeleading indicatorgaps and reinforce a proactive safety culture.
CrossFunctionalCollaboration
Partner with Facilities Ops D&C EHS Process Engineering BU tool owners Planning and Construction teams to enable reliable operations and minimize downtime.
Support tool installations shutdown coordination design reviews and construction interfaces.
Communicate technical concepts clearly to both engineering and nontechnical stakeholders.
Budgeting & Business Alignment
Assistwith development of departmental budgets; manage assigned projects within scope schedule and cost.
Provide engineering input to capital planning project forecasting and TCO optimization strategies.
Recommend improvements to processes programs and facility systems in alignment with business needs.
Functional Knowledge
Deepexpertiseinmechanical engineering with broad understanding ofelectrical controls and process utility systems.
Comprehensive knowledge ofCalifornia Building Mechanical Plumbingcodes Title 24 NFPA and environmental requirements.
DemonstratedproficiencywithAutoCAD MS Office (Word Excel Project) and preferred experience withRevit/BIM SCADA platforms (GECimplicity) and CMMS systems (Maximo).
Ability to troubleshoot complex mechanical and electromechanical systems including pneumatics robotics interfaces vacuum systems and cleanroom support equipment.
Business Expertise
5 years of mechanical engineering experience in semiconductor cleanroom or comparablehigh tech/industrial environments.
Experience with contract management vendor oversight bid reviews and negotiation.
Ability to evaluate budgets contribute to fiscal planning and support financial governance.
Anticipatesregulatory changes and recommends facility modifications accordingly.

Qualifications
BS in Mechanical Engineering.
California PE (Mechanical)strongly preferred.
710 years mechanical engineering design experience for industrial facilities labs cleanrooms data centers or campus utility systems.
Experience with HVAC chillers/boilers process piping utility distribution and cleanroom mechanical systems.
Able to independently execute mechanical engineering design and project support.
LEED accreditationa plus.
Experience withRevit/BIMa plus.
Strong communicationand collaboration skillsessential.

NoThe salary offered to a selected candidate will be based on multiple factors including location hire grade job-related knowledge skills experience and with consideration of internal equity of our current team addition to a comprehensive benefits package candidates may be eligible for other forms of compensation such as participation in a bonus and a stock award program as applicable.
For all sales roles the posted salary range is the Target Total Cash (TTC) range for the role which is the sum of base salary and target bonus amount at 100% goal achievement.
