Position Summary
The Construction Project Manager is responsible for planning coordinating and overseeing construction projects from inception through completion. This role ensures that projects are delivered on schedule within budget and in full compliance with safety quality and regulatory requirements.
The ideal candidate is a bilingual (Spanish/English) professional with strong organizational skills and proven experience managing multiple commercial or retail construction projects across various locations. This position requires frequent on-site presence and close collaboration with contractors vendors inspectors and internal stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan manage and oversee construction projects from pre-construction through project closeout.
- Develop and manage project schedules budgets scopes of work and timelines.
- Coordinate contractors subcontractors architects engineers and vendors.
- Conduct regular site visits to monitor progress safety compliance and quality standards.
- Ensure compliance with local state and federal building codes and regulations.
- Manage project documentation including contracts change orders RFIs and permits.
- Track project costs review and approve invoices and proactively mitigate cost overruns.
- Communicate project status milestones risks and issues to leadership.
- Resolve on-site issues delays and conflicts efficiently and professionally.
- Enforce safety protocols and company standards across all job sites.
- Support project closeout activities including punch lists final inspections and documentation.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in Construction Management Engineering Architecture or a related field (preferred).
- Minimum of 5 years of experience managing commercial or retail construction projects.
- Bilingual Spanish/English (required).
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Strong knowledge of construction methods materials safety standards and regulations.
- Ability to travel up to 50% to project sites.
- Excellent leadership communication and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and construction/project management tools.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with retail grocery or multi-site construction projects.
- OSHA 30 certification or equivalent.
- PMP or other construction/project management certification.
- Experience working in fast-growth or distributed organizations.
Work Environment
- Combination of office-based work and active construction job sites.
- Frequent travel to multiple locations.
- Ability to lift up to 25 lbs and safely navigate active construction environments.
- Occasional evenings or weekends based on project needs.
Compensation & Benefits
$70000 $90000 annually depending on experience bilingual proficiency and travel requirements.
