Description
As a Pathologist you will play a crucial role in evaluating and diagnosing medical conditions through laboratory analysis. Your expertise will contribute to our mission of matching qualified healthcare professionals with healthcare facilities in need. You will engage with healthcare providers and clients to ensure the highest standards of medical excellence are met.
Responsibilities
- Perform diagnostic testing and analysis on biological samples
- Collaborate with healthcare providers to discuss findings and recommendations
- Prepare detailed reports of laboratory results for medical staff
- Stay updated on advancements in pathology and medical technology
- Participate in quality assurance and improvement initiatives
- Mentor and train junior staff and medical students
- Engage in research activities related to pathology
- Contribute to client consultations and recruitment strategies
Requirements
- MD or DO degree from an accredited medical school
- Associate-level experience in pathology or related field
- Board certification in pathology (or eligibility for certification)
- Strong analytical and diagnostic skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
- Proficiency in laboratory information systems and software
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment
- Commitment to ongoing professional development and education
Schedule: Monday-Friday 8a-5p
Frozen/Consult Call Requirement: 1 weekend day every 6 weeks 1 weeknight every 3 weeks
Annual Case Volume: 3000
Focus on neuro oncology/brain tumors etc.
Will handle clinical autopsies
Academic position with exposure to medical students residents and fellows; must be active in research articles etc.
Team Structure: 2 additional neuropathologists
EMR: Cerner/Epic
2 years of experience preferred
Must be board-certified
