About the Role

HeyTutor has partnered with a local school district in Washington DC to provide high-impact in-person tutoring to Middle School and High School students. Applicants must have completed an Associates degree or higher or be currently enrolled in college.

We are hiring English & Math Tutors to support students in grades 6th-12th during the school day. This is a great opportunity for college students aspiring educators and education professionals looking for consistent hours competitive pay and meaningful work in their community.

Pay & Benefits

• $29-$32 per hour based on education and experience

Schedule

• MondayFriday availability required
  
• Must be available between 7:30 AM 4:30 PM

Requirements

• Completed AA degree or higher OR currently enrolled in college (required)
  
• Experience working with children or tutoring preferred
  
• Comfortable tutoring Elementary Math and English Language Arts (ELA)
  
• Ability to manage small groups independently
  
• Comfortable working in a classroom setting
  
• Ability to pass an FBI-DOJ in-person background check (provided by HeyTutor)
  

Key Responsibilities

• Tutor small groups of Elementary students without direct teacher supervision
  
• Deliver lessons using provided curriculum and materials
  
• Create an engaging and welcoming learning environment
  
• Support positive student behavior and participation
  
• Track attendance and student progress using the HeyTutor Dashboard
  
• Assist with student assessments when requested
  
• Escort students to and from designated areas on campus
  
• Clock in/out daily using Deputy
  
• Complete additional duties as assigned
