1Chevron Shale & Tight Business Unit is accepting online applications for the position of LDAR Technician at our Tioga ND plant through February 18th 2026 at 11:59 p.m. CST (Central Standard Time).
The LDAR (Leak Detection and Repair) Technician is responsible for detecting and reporting leaks in equipment and pipelines using specialized tools and techniques. This role ensures compliance with all environmental regulations and safety standards through routine inspections and maintenance. The technician monitors and identifies leaks maintaining accurate records and reports to support compliance operational efficiency and safety. Works under general supervision while collaborating with operations and maintenance teams.
Responsibilities may include but are not limited to:
Conduct OGI (Optical Gas Imaging) and AVO (Auditory Visual and Olfactory) surveys at Upstream and Midstream Facilities
Complete Method 9 and Method 22 Visible Emission/Opacity surveys
Create detailed reports of survey findings and complete repair verification surveys
Participate in the Respiratory Protection Program
Maintain OGI camera certification
Maintain Visible Emissions certification
Field-focused role requiring daily travel
Independent work with cross-team communication
Work at heights (tank batteries)
Work under air (H2S locations)
Potential for inclement weather
May include rotating on-call support
Required Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent
Must possess and maintain a valid Drivers License
Ability to work effectively and cooperatively with a diverse team of coworkers contractors and internal and external customers
Demonstrates ownership of safety integrity and compliance
Mechanical/technical aptitude
Strong attention to detail
Direct decisive accountable and results-driven
Microsoft Office (Excel Outlook etc.)
Preferred Qualifications:
Prior experience with leak detection or optical gas imaging
Prior OGI training/certification
Prior opacity training/certification
Knowledge of oil & gas production equipment and processes
Relocation Options:
Relocation may be considered within Chevrons parameters.
International Options:
International assignments wont be considered.
