The Role: Your challenge in our journey

Were looking for a passionate and curious VP Sample Management to join our team. As a Vice President Sample Management at Evotec youll have the freedom to ask the hard questions think outside the box and find creative solutions that push us forward. Its a role where your curiosity will fuel both your personal growth and the success of the team.

The primary role of the VP Sample Management and Site Head is to oversee the Branford site and collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure effective support of Branfords operations. The role is responsible for directing all departmental activities and projects overseeing the day-to-day management of operations and resources and providing strategic leadership in close collaboration with other department sample management heads.

What Youll Do:

o Attend regular meetings with global and local support functions (HR Facilities Finance ESG etc.) to coordinate operational and strategic support for the Branford site. This scope includes but is not limited to:

  • Environmental Safety and Governance (ESG) initiatives
  • Identification monitoring and management of key site risks (risk register)
  • Employee communication and engagement activities
  • Employee recruitment onboarding and integration of new employees
  • Business continuity emergency response planning and related processes
  • Employee health & safety and oversight of the site sustainability action plan (in collaboration with EHS)

o Partner with Quality to ensure implementation communication and ongoing awareness of required policies.

o Coordinate and lead site-wide Town Hall meetings and participate in new employee onboarding activities.

o Participate in monthly U.S. Site Head Forum meetings to align on organizational priorities and share site-specific insights.

o Oversee all departmental activities ensuring alignment with organizational goals and operational excellence.

o Manage group leaders team leaders and senior managers to plan set achieve and review objectives for discovery projects and programs.

o Provide senior scientific leadership and operational guidance across all areas of the department.

o Work closely and manage with cross-functional project teams; lead selected projects as content owner and contribute expertise to others.

o Manage and optimize the departments budget investments and resource allocation in accordance with group policies and strategic priorities.

o Hire retain motivate and develop departmental staff fostering a collaborative and high-performing work environment.

o Support employee growth through targeted development actions including training coaching and internal mobility initiatives.

o Manage external relationships with customers consultants and subcontractors ensuring service quality and strong professional partnerships.

o Ensure full compliance with client expectations and maintain strict confidentiality of studies research activities and client data.

o Oversee workload distribution resources planning and project scheduling across the department to ensure timely and effective execution.

o Lead contribute to or sponsor continuous improvement initiatives including those utilizing Lean methodologies to enhance efficiency and operational performance.

o Ensure all activities comply with applicable Quality Health and Safety procedures fostering a safe compliant and well-managed work environment.

Who You Are:

oA Bachelors degree in a relevant field is required.

o 15years of experience inpharmaceuticalindustry withrelevantachievements.

oMust have a demonstrated record of achievement with sample management operations.

oStrong understanding of terminology and concepts in Process Chemistry Sample Management High Throughput Screening (HTS) Informatics Biology Biochemistry Chemistry and the biopharmaceutical industry.

oAbility to create and present both oral and written presentations with confidence.

oTraining and experience managing external contracts.

oMustpossessexcellent interpersonal skills and verbal and written communication skills.

oAbility to create and analyze spreadsheetstoevaluate data and make recommendations

oMust have experience andexpertisein creating proposals to support potential client needs

oPrior experience in project coordination or management on federal contracts subcontracts procurement compliance or proposal development; experience in purchasing cost accounting or financial analysis

oAbility to handle multiple deadlines and associated pressures

oStrong interpersonal and supervisory skills

oMust havea track recordof efficient time management with the ability to manage multiple complex tasks simultaneously while meeting deadlines.

oComfort with reasonable travel both nationally and internationally.

The base pay range for this position at commencement of employment is expected to be $190000 to $220000; Base salary offered may vary depending on the individuals skills experience and competitive market value. Additional total rewards include discretionary annual bonus comprehensive benefits to include Medical Dental and Vision short-term and long-term disability company paid basic life insurance 401k company match flexible work generous paid time off and paid holiday wellness and transportation benefits.
