Job Summary
Launch your career as a Casual Coal Technician in a practical lab-focused role. Youll develop hands-on experience in coal sampling preparation and analysis working within a collaborative team that values accuracy safety and quality outcomes.
Following comprehensive training your responsibilities will include (but are not limited to):
- Assist with the preventative maintenance of all preparation and laboratory equipment.
- To ensure accuracy precision and traceability of prepared samples.
- Assist with the calibration of all preparation and laboratory equipment.
- Follow routine and non-routine sampling instructions
- Opportunity to obtain nationally recognised qualification if desired
Qualifications :
At SGS youll receive comprehensive training and hands-on learning to set you up for success. To thrive in this role youll also bring:
- Experience in a fast-paced physically active industrial setting
- Previous coal sampling/testing experience (advantageous but not essential)
- Eagerness to learn and take on new tasks
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
- Reliability and a customer-focused mindset
- Basic computer skills (e.g. Excel)
- Team player with the ability to meet tight deadlines
- Flexibility to work shifts and rosters
- Valid drivers license and reliable transport
