ABOUT THE ROLE
The Director EHS Austin Campus is responsible for leading all Environmental Health & Safety programs across our Austin facilitiesincluding manufacturing research and development logistics and administrative environments. This role drives the EHS strategic direction for the campus ensures regulatory compliance and promotes a strong safety culture rooted in accountability operational learning and shared responsibility.
The Director partners closely with corporate EHS to ensure all campus programs align with enterprise expectations and integrate seamlessly with companywide initiatives. This role ensures that enterprise EHS strategies are effectively operationalized at the Austin campus providing leadership for local implementation capability development and continuous addition to the Austin campus the Director will be closely aligned and work directly with the other manufacturing sites within the US and internationally to standardize processes programs metrics and initiatives.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
EHS Strategy & Leadership
- Develop and lead the EHS strategy for the Austin campus ensuring alignment with corporate EHS frameworks standards and long-range plans.
- Serve as the primary EHS leader for campus operations promoting shared ownership of safety across all levels and functions.
- Communicate site performance risks and improvement priorities to local leadership and corporate EHS teams.
Compliance Risk Management & Operational Programs
- Maintain full compliance with federal state and local EHS regulations across all Austin campus facilities.
- Lead the implementation and continuous improvement of EHS programs addressing safety ergonomics hazardous materials waste management environmental protection and sustainability.
- Manage campus-level audits inspections and verification activities; ensure timely corrective action implementation and effectiveness.
- Monitor regulatory changes and assess their impact on campus operations; partner with corporate and site stakeholders to implement mitigation strategies.
Environmental Stewardship
- Drive campus environmental sustainability initiatives including goals related to energy use GHG emissions water conservation waste reduction and recycling.
- Oversee environmental permits regulatory submissions and site remediation activities as needed.
Cross-Functional Partnership & Integration
- Collaborate with site functional teams - Operations R&D Facilities HR Engineering and Supply Chain etc. to embed EHS principles into work planning design and execution.
- Act as the key EHS liaison for corporate functions ensuring local alignment with enterprise initiatives and expectations.
- Engage with regulatory agencies auditors and external partners on matters affecting the Austin campus.
Culture & Engagement
- Lead efforts to cultivate a positive learning-focused safety culture that encourages reporting collaboration and continuous improvement.
- Apply Human & Organizational Performance (HOP) principles to learning reviews assessments and program improvements.
- Promote proactive employee engagement recognition and participation in EHS programs.
Team Leadership & Development
- Direct mentor and develop a team of campus EHS professionals; establish clear priorities expectations and growth pathways.
- Strengthen team capability in compliance management technical EHS competencies problem solving and cross-functional collaboration.
- Manage external consultants contractors and technical experts supporting campus EHS programs.
QUALIFICATIONS
Required
- Minimum 15 years of EHS experience including significant leadership responsibility in complex manufacturing R&D or industrial environments.
- Experience implementing EHS programs across multi-functional facilities (manufacturing labs warehouses administrative spaces).
- Previous experience with multi-facility responsibilities
- Strong working knowledge of U.S. federal and state EHS regulations.
- Demonstrated success leading teams and driving organizational change.
- Strong analytical project management and influencing skills.
- Experience with environmental compliance and risk reduction programs.
- Experience working directly with manufacturing sites on a global level
Preferred
- Advanced degree and/or professional certifications (CSP CIH PE).
- Experience managing environmental remediation including coordination with consultants and regulators.
- Familiarity with EHS management systems (ISO 14001 ISO 45001).

EDUCATION
- Bachelors degree in Environmental Health & Safety Science Industrial Engineering or related field required.
- Advanced degree or certifications preferred (CSP CIH PE).
OTHER REQUIREMENTS
- On-site leadership role based in Austin TX.
- Travel up to 1025% may be required to support corporate alignment or cross-campus initiatives. There is very limited potential for international travel with this role as well.

The salary offered to a selected candidate will be based on multiple factors including location hire grade job-related knowledge skills experience and with consideration of internal equity of our current team addition to a comprehensive benefits package candidates may be eligible for other forms of compensation such as participation in a bonus and a stock award program as applicable.
For all sales roles the posted salary range is the Target Total Cash (TTC) range for the role which is the sum of base salary and target bonus amount at 100% goal achievement.
