Job Summary

POSITION SUMMARY:Under the direction of and in conjunction with the Director of Food Service the Assistant Director of Food Service oversees daily food service operations supervises staff ensures compliance with USDA regulations and maintains efficiency in school kitchens. The Assistant Director handles operational challenges such as equipment issues inventory management and menu execution. The role also involves supporting staff development through ongoing training ensuring that food safety standards are met and implementing improvements to boost overall :The duties and responsibilities listed below are intended only as an illustration of the various types of work that may be performed. The omission of specific statements of duties does not exclude them from the position if the work is similar related or a logical assignment to the the Food Service Director in managing daily operations including food production staff supervision compliance documentation and coordinating school meal and supervise food service staff including assigning tasks training and evaluating with the Director Principals and school nurses to support students with dietary restrictions and cultural meal and inspect all kitchen and cafeteria facilities and operations regularly to ensure that high standards of diet cleanliness health and safety are being maintained and works and make suggestions to the Director regarding improvements in operations and training training and support including assistance with the POS with food safety procedures and protocols ensuring compliance with state and federal the development analysis and marketing of school breakfast and lunch coordination with school nursing staff review requests for special dietary needs and allergens and communicate those requests to the Director to formulate a cohesive response/communications to parents and staff. Supervise the planning and preparation of any special meals for district-sponsored with placing orders with food vendors and monitor inventory within all six schools and coordinate stock movement for cost staff coverage and provide coverage at schools as feedback from parents students and staff and reports information to the Director to help inform meal in Wellness Committee activities to ensure compliance with the National School Lunch Program and Breakfast Program and wellness updated on USDA and State regulations to ensure legal with review cycles including administrative and procurement conferences and training sessions as in the planning and implementation of Farm to School initiatives including school garden projects in coordination with kitchen staff. Assist with the procurement of local and clean-label direct certification reports as any other duties as YEAR:200 DaysREPORTS TO:Director of Food ServiceSALARY RANGE:$50000 to $55000
