PRIMARY PURPOSE: The Communications Specialist is a key member of the Marketing & Communications team responsible for external and internal messaging that raises awareness of the Food Banks mission and fundraising efforts. This position manages the day-to-day administration of the NTFB website and oversees analytics across digital platforms to ensure the Food Banks online presence consistently reflects the organizations brand and messaging.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Education:
Bachelors degree in digital media communications or related field or an equivalent combination of education and relevant work experience
Special Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
Proficiency with Google products including Google Analytics and Google Ads
Knowledge of Content Management Systems such as WordPress and utilization of SEO strategies
Ability to create online forms and crowdfunding pages; basic design/layout skills desired
Proficiency with Adobe Creative Cloud products and Microsoft Office applications
Strong verbal written and interpersonal communication as well as presentation skills
Ability to collaborate effectively and interact professionally with people at all levels
Project management skills
Highly organized with strong attention to detail; results-oriented with problem-solving skills
Knowledge of Customer Relationship Management (CRM) systems - Blackbaud preferred
Experience:
One year of related experience in developing and implementing digital strategies to effectively engage audiences leverage analytics insights and manage creative projects
PRINCIPLE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Serve as the primary web manager updating and troubleshooting the NTFB website and coordinating quarterly content maintenance with departments across the organization
Support the Agency Zone for partner agencies on the NTFB website and oversee weekly promotion of the mobile pantry schedule
Update digital screens at NTFBs Plano Campus to promote events and volunteer opportunities
Manage the Speakers Bureau program coordinating requests with available resources
Support social media efforts by creating engaging visual content including graphics photos and videos
Assist the fundraising team with creating and troubleshooting donation campaigns on third-party websites and support programs and administrative teams with online form creation and management
Prepare reports that include key metrics and analytics noting performance and trends year over year for the NTFB app as well as social media channels
Manage content updates push notifications and marketing strategy for the NTFB app
Collaborate with NTFB IT on domain and registrar updates
Support annual signature events cause-marketing partnerships and community campaigns
Produce and edit video using a phone or DSLR camera or on Adobe Premiere; publish content and collaborate with staff agency partners donors and others to create or curate content
Collaborate with the Community Engagement team on strategy creation and execution of digital email communications for signature events
Manage SMS campaigns and text-to-give platforms for specific events and campaigns
Coordinate digital optimization projects for NTFBs website and donation forms; create campaign forms and manage email database through Luminate Online ensuring compliance with the CAN-SPAM Act including email strategy and segmentation
Serve as the primary administrator for the Google Ad Grant and Analytics managed with a third-party direct response vendor
Perform other tasks and duties as assigned

ENVIRONMENTAL FACTORS:
Moderate noise (i.e. business office with an open floor plan with computers phone and printers light traffic)
Travel required to locations within our 12-county service area
Ability to work outside the traditional 40-hour workweek; some evening and weekend work required
