- Position Summary
Assists the Infection Preventionist and the Director of Quality with the coordination implementation and evaluation of the organizations infection prevention and control program.
Reports to: Director of Quality

- Education:Degree in Applied Science Nursing Medical Technology Microbiology Epidemiology or other related field (preferred) Or related experience
- License:Registered Nurse (RN) or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) in State of Michigan (Preferred)
- Certifications:Certified Infection Control (CIC) Preferred
Essential Functions
- Assists with the development and evaluation of the organizations infection prevention and control strategies policies and planning.
- Collects and performs statistical analysis interpretation and dissemination of healthcare associated infection data including risk assessment surveillance priorities and outcomes analysis.
- Assists with monitoring local state and federal regulations and ensures compliance with accrediting and regulatory agencies standards and requirements.
- Assists with the development of Infection Prevention educational resources and initiatives.
- Monitors research and developments in the field of infection prevention and control to identify best practices.

- Physical Requirements (typical):Frequent standing walking reaching keyboard entry repetitive movements kneeling and lifting/moving patients; occasional sitting and squatting; rare running or climbing. Near/far vision and depth perception frequent/constant; color distinction frequent.
- Environmental Exposures:Occasional exposure to biohazardous waste communicable diseases/pathogens dust gases/vapors/fumes and hazardous chemicals/medications; latex exposure frequent.
- Skills:Critical thinking decisive judgment ability to work with minimal supervision in a stressful environment; rapid learning and navigation of multiple software systems; effective English communication (read/write/speak); ability to complete the Skills Competency Checklist within 90 days of hire.
