As a member of the Plumbing Shop Team and under the general supervision of the Plumbing Shop Lead the Plumbing Facilities Worker II is responsible for the inspection and testing of safety showers/eyewash stations and for assisting with the inspection of fire hose cabinets and fire extinguishers campus wide. The incumbent is also responsible for performing a wide variety of tasks and for assisting skilled Journeyman trades as needed.

The ideal candidate demonstrates strong customer service skills and possesses hands-on ability to perform basic work across multiple trades while safely operating the appropriate tools and machinery. They bring solid knowledge and experience in building maintenance techniques and can effectively learn interpret and apply the California Plumbing Code. Additionally they work well under the direct supervision of licensed Journeyman Plumbers contributing reliably and professionally to trade-related tasks and overall maintenance operations.
Ability to communicate with an ethnically and culturally diverse campus community. Ability to follow all university policies procedures and guidelines including but not limited to safety civility information security and non-discrimination policies and procedures. Ability to contribute to a positive university experience for each and every student and assist in achieving the universitys commitment to a vision of excellence.
Equivalent to three years of hands-on experience in general facilities and systems maintenance and repair or comparable experience as a trades assistant or laborer with demonstrated proficiency in the required duties.
Valid California drivers license required.
