Marine Technician

Essential duties and responsibilities include the following:

• Evaluates performance and operation of watercraft during sea trials.
• Repairs and installs equipment such as engines electrical systems and components heating ventilation water systems.
• Conducts tests on marine equipment to see if testing standards are met.
• Reviews recommendations for repair work to watercraft with service advisor.
• Maintain an 80% or better efficiency rating with retail labor and warranty labor

Education and/or Experience:

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED) and minimum 2 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Language Skills - Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
• Mathematical Skills - Basic Mathematical skills
• Reasoning Ability - Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written oral or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concreate variables in standardized situations.
• Computer Skills
• To perform this job successfully an individual should gain knowledge of ADP Light speed and should have the ability to use computer to diagnose boat systems and engines.
