About the Job
Our clients Australian Project Finance Team is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Project Finance Analyst to join our dynamic team. Reporting to the Head of Project Finance - Australia you will play a pivotal role in supporting the financing aspects of our Australian projects. This includes financial modelling investment analysis and transaction support. You will collaborate closely with the development team to provide financing inputs manage financial models and ensure compliance with group policies and funding assumptions. Your contributions will directly support the growth and operations of our projects in Australia.
Overview
As a Project Finance Analyst you will be responsible for managing and analyzing financial models supporting project financing processes and ensuring compliance with contractual commitments. You will work across various stages of project development financing construction and operations as well as provide financial analysis for M&A activities. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to impactful projects in the energy utility and infrastructure sectors.
Responsibilities
Development Stage
- Maintain up-to-date transparent and robust financial models for development assets.
- Provide reliable modelling outputs and scenario evaluations to support PPA/grant funding RFPs and EPC procurement decisions.
- Deliver analytical and quantitative support to the development team.
Financing Stage
- Build and adapt financial models to meet lender and project requirements through to financial close.
- Collaborate with construction development and procurement teams to ensure financial models are accurate and provide regular management updates.
- Manage advisors including financial model audits dataroom management and due diligence support.
- Assist the Project Finance Manager in coordinating closing processes.
Construction and Operation Stage
- Support financial controllers in preparing bank reports and technical waivers as needed.
- Ensure projects comply with all contractual commitments.
Transactions
- Provide financial analysis to support M&A activities.
Qualifications
- Undergraduate qualification in a relevant discipline such as Applied Finance Economics Commerce Actuarial Studies Mathematics or Engineering.
- 2-4 years of experience (including internships or post-graduate employment) in financial modelling with demonstrated expertise in quantitative and financial analysis.
- Experience in the Project Finance division of a bank professional services or advisory firm or sponsor in the energy utility or infrastructure sector is highly desirable.
- High attention to detail and strong analytical skills.
Day-to-Day
- Develop and maintain financial models to support project development and financing.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure accurate and up-to-date financial data.
- Provide detailed financial analysis and scenario evaluations to support decision-making.
- Manage relationships with external advisors and ensure compliance with group policies and contractual obligations.
- Support the Project Finance Manager in coordinating financing and closing processes.
