The Electric Line Academy is an intensive skills-based training program designed to prepare participants for entry-level employment in the electric utility industry. The program emphasizes safety hands-on technical skills and workforce readiness through a structured progression from foundational safety training to coreline workercompetencies and advanced field operations. Upon completion participants are equipped with practical experience industry-recognized certifications and job readiness skills aligned with employer expectations.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Teach electric line coursework including overhead and underground distribution transmission basics and equipment operation
Deliver hands-on training in pole climbing rigging framing transformer installation grounding and related skills
Enforce OSHA and utility safety standards at all times
Develop update andmaintainlesson plans labs and assessments aligned with program and accreditation requirements
Evaluate student performance and provide constructive feedback
Maintain training equipment tools and lab environments in safe working condition
Model professional behavior teamwork and jobsite expectations
Support student career readinessandemployability skills
Collaborate with workforce development staff employers and advisory committees
Hiring Range:
$45.00 per contact hour this course is planned to run 360 hours.
Work Hours:
These classes will be scheduled to run MondayThursday 7:00 a.m.4:00 p.m.

Required Qualifications
Journey-level ElectricLineworkeror equivalent industry experience
Minimum of 5 years of recent field experience in electric distribution and/or transmission
Strong working knowledge of electrical safety practices and regulations
Ability todemonstrateand teach physical hands-on skills safely
Effective communication and instructional skills
CDL Alicense
Preferred Qualifications
Teaching or training experience in a technical apprenticeship or workforce setting
Associate degree or higher in a related field
Experience working with utility companies cooperatives or contractors
Current industry certifications (OSHA 10/30 First Aid/CPR CDLFlaggingetc.)
Smart Grid Fundamentals and Grid Modernization knowledge
Experiencewithand ability to train onInsulated Areal Device (bucket truck)
Digger Derrick experience and knowledge
