At Honda of Frontenac we are seeking a knowledgeable and detail-oriented Accounting Assistant to join our team. This role is ideal for someone who is organized dependable and eager to contribute to the smooth administrative and financial operations of our dealership. The Accounting Assistant will play a vital part in managing daily monetary transactions ensuring accuracy in accounts handling and supporting overall accounting functions. RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Process and accurately record bank deposits ensuring all funds received are properly documented and reconciled within the financial system.
- Support the finance team in sales documentation in compliance with company policies and legal requirements.
- Process and track F&I (Finance & Insurance) product payments and cancellations maintaining up-to-date records that reflect customer agreements and dealership offerings.
- Assist in automotive billing tasks with F&I on customer rebate processing and work to provide excellent customer service to internal teams and external clients.
- Scan in all accounting and finance documents.
- Stock in new and purchased vehicles.
- Back-up showroom reception desk and other duties as assigned.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Previous experience in accounting or bookkeeping preferably within an automotive dealership or related industry is preferred but not required.
- Strong understanding of accounting principles bank reconciliations and financial documentation processes.
- Attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks while maintaining accuracy and meeting deadlines.
- Proficiency with accounting software and Microsoft Office applications particularly Excel.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively with team members and external partners.
- Monday through Friday schedule; 8:30 am to 5:30 pm.
