OVERVIEW
Thefull-timePastor of Careis responsible for providing pastoral oversight of the care needs for Grace Community Church. The Pastor of Care will triage care needs empower lay leaders and lead our various care ministries oversee benevolence and collaborate with other pastors elders and staff to ensure care remains healthy coordinated and effective.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
OversightofCare Ministries
- Coordinate the immediate triageofcare needsacross thechurch(community groups benevolencepastors staffserving teams etc.)
- Equip and empower lay leadersand staffto effectively carry out ministries of care.
- Resource ministry leaders with tools for recognizing and responding to emotional relational and spiritual needs.
- Work withtheDirector of Counseling to lead GriefshareDivorceCare andStephenministries.
Oversight of Benevolence
- Lead the Benevolence Team in reviewing and responding to requests for financialassistancewithinthe churchs benevolence policy and procedures.
- Partner with outside organizations (e.g. Community Action Council local nonprofits) whenappropriate toensure holistic care.
Pastoral & LeadershipPresence
- Provide oversight to theDirector ofCounselinginresponding tothe counseling needs at Grace Community Church.
- Schedule and provide support for Pastor-On-Call rotations.
- Lead the Care & Counseling Administrative Coordinator.
- Provide pastoral counseling as needed.
- Collaborate withpastors/elders to provide spiritual care prayer and shepherdingtowards whole-person discipleship.
- Perform general pastoral and care duties as needed (visitations counseling weddings etc.)
- Be a consistentand visiblepresence on Sunday mornings connecting with people and welcomingthem.
- Teach in small and medium-sized settings as required.
COMPETENCIES
- Graduate degree from an accredited seminary preferred(M.A. orin biblical/theological or pastoral studies); In the absence of a theological degree a pastoral/ministerial license or official ordination is.
- Proven ability to train and equip others for ministry.
- Collaborative spirit eager to foster unity across teams.
- Demonstrates a pastoral heart expressed by compassion encouragement and spiritual wisdom.
- Minimum of 5 years experience in pastoral care pastoral counseling or overseeing congregational care within a church setting.
- Formal trainingin biblical counselingpastoralcounseling or related field preferred but not.
- Alignment with Grace Community Churchs theological convictions and philosophy ofministry including but not limited toGospel-centered and Emotionally Healthy Discipleship; convictionsaroundGods vision forethnic unity.
- Ableto use technology with ease and competenceknowingyou will be more effective in ministry and collaborating with teamsasyou do.
SCHEDULE
- 1x Per Week Each Meet with Executive Pastor/Attend the weekly All Staff Meetingson Tuesdaymornings /Attend the weekly All Staff PrayerPause /On-site on Sunday for all gatherings
- 1x Per Year Participate in the All-Staff Retreat
- Rotational Pastor On-Call
- Christmas Eve Easter Sunday Gatherings
- As needed Initiate/attend project specific meetings
