THE OPPORTUNITY

The UGDSB is seeking a dynamic individual to join our team for a temporary full-time opportunity in the capacity of Office Coordinator - Elementary .

Location: Fred A. Hamilton Public School

FTE and Hours: 1.0 FTE; 35 hours per week

Hourly Pay Rate : $31.61 - $38.51 per hour plus applicable vacation pay in accordance with the ESA; wage rate effective September 1 2025

Start Date: February 13 2026

End Date: Unknown end date

Board Information: 10-month position (yearly from September June following the school year calendar); temporary; full-time; Office Clerical and Technical (OCT) Union

Reporting to the Principal and Vice Principal the Office Coordinator - Elementary is responsible for providing confidential and administrative support managing student attendance coordinating office tasks and maintaining school student and financial records. This role ensures the efficient operation of the school office and supports the overall administrative functions of the school.

Responsibilities:

This position will be responsible for performing all office administrative duties in the school including:

  • Provide confidential and administrative support for the principal and vice-principal
  • Verify student attendance through Safe Arrival program
  • Co-ordinate workload and assign tasks of other office staff as required
  • Develop and maintain all school student and financial records including School Cash Online SDS banking and budget reconciliation
  • Establish and maintain manual and automated filing systems
  • Complete month end reporting
  • Prepare and follow up on a variety of correspondence reports and documents
  • Other duties as assigned
Experience and Qualifications:
  • Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD) or equivalent education and experience deemed equivalent by the Board
  • Demonstrated understanding of elementary school operational requirements to effectively perform or delegate tasks as required
  • Demonstrated ability to adhere to confidentiality at all times
  • Excellent computer skills including but not limited to Microsoft Office SDS School Cash and Edsembli and ability to use a variety of computer applications and databases
  • Excellent organizational multi-tasking and record-keeping skills
  • Ability to work well with minimal supervision and as an effective member of the school team
  • Proven ability to collaborate with others in a professional respectful equitable and inclusive manner.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills to communicate effectively and resolve concerns with staff students and with the community
