General Dynamics Mission SystemsCanada(GDMS-C) is currently looking for a Vehicle Integration Compound (VIC) Coordinator 2 - IUDC 08. In this role you will be a point of contact for the movement of customer and company military vehicles at GDMS-C and remote sites.
Under minimal support :
- Main point of contact for the movement of customer and company military vehicles at company and remote sites. Takes initiative to perform all military vehicle and shelter related duties
- With oversight plan and execute daily operation of Vehicle Integration Compound and related facilities. Interface with key stakeholders to operate move or stage customer and company military vehicles and perform driver maintenance tasks.
- Troubleshoot and diagnose root cause of issues and perform minor repairs when required. Provide detailed reports on issues and arrange for repair for the customer or company vehicles.
- Respond to inquires about military vehicle capabilities and implement recommendations. Oversee carry out and ensure safe refuelling of military vehicles in a safe manner.
- Complete customer maintenance and supply forms for military vehicles and equipment
- Perform offsite installations or tests without supervision. Ensure and maintain a high level of security for the care and movement of military vehicles at all times.
- Ensure safety procedures are followed at all times during the operation of any vehicle or electrical or mechanical system.
- Support vehicle installation and system testing as required. Operate a forklift observing all safety regulations.
- Update safety boards and MSDS forms. Required to comply with all company documentation. Leads the coordination of all required equipment and supplies for field trial activities. Performs other related duties as required.
Qualifications :
- Equivalent to full secondary school
- Over 6 years up to and including 8 years of experience
Complexity
- Work involves problem solving and judgment in conducting somewhat diverse tests installations demonstrations and training.
- Applies technical knowledge to perform analysis troubleshooting & diagnostics on vehicles and equipment of moderate complexity from system to component level while maintaining quality standards and defined productivity output.
- Expected to manage moderate irregularities. Identify root causes and develop solutions using logic and understanding of equipment and alternative approaches.
- Must demonstrate flexibility and the ability for quick and knowledgeable response to technical and customer service related issues which arise while in the field.

- Initiates the identification and implementation of solutions to minimize impact to quality schedule or product and/or equipment performance.

Effort (Physical/Sensory) & Working Environment
- Continuous movement amongst workstation equipment to complete work. Repetitive hand/finder movement is required for continuous periods of time. Lifting carrying handling materials up to 20 lbs constantly up to 50 lbs frequently and occasionally up to 100 lbs (with support).
- Significant visual attention for concentration required to operate military vehicles for continuous periods of time.
- Frequently required to handle dirty and oily equipment. Some isolation while in VIC area; limited exposure to chemicals fumes dust and noise; some repetition; moderate interruptions and occasional high volumes.
- Required to travel on short notice. Field assignments range in length sometimes up to several weeks.
