Job Summary

Home Assistance Officer (Surveyor)

We are looking to recruit a new team member to join our established Home Assistance Team helping us keep pace with the growing demand for our grants and loans programme across North Lincolnshire.
This is a fulltime permanent position.

Do you have good overall knowledge of domestic construction with experience in identifying major defects and hazards assessing them and working collaboratively to develop practical solutions

Have you previously designed adaptations for Disabled Facilities Grants to support our elderly and vulnerable residentsworking alongside colleagues to help people safely access essential facilities in their homes

Whatever your background you must have excellent communication skills particularly when liaising with people who access our services many of whom may be elderly or vulnerable.

Teamwork is central to this role. You will work closely with Occupational Therapists specialist clinicians contractors partner organisations and colleagues across the council. The ability to share information coordinate effectively and support other team members is essential.

Experience of managing works on site is an advantage. You will also need to be adaptable and responsive to a varied workload that includes unplanned site visitsno two days are the same and working together as a team helps us meet these challenges.

The ideal candidate will have proven experience in a similar localauthority role practical knowledge of HHSRS and the ability to produce schedules of work to support likeforlike quotations across the range of grants and loans offered by NLC.

Strong CAD skills and an understanding of grants legislation would be an advantage.

For the right candidate we will support your developmentworking with you to build on your existing skills and experience so you can confidently manage your own caseload while contributing to our supportive established team environment.

You will receive excellent admin and IT support along with ongoing professional development to help you succeed in the role and continue to grow with the team.
