Job Summary

NeuLife Rehabilitation of Michigan provides rehabilitation and residential services for individuals with Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI) Acquired Brain Injury (ABI) Spinal Cord Injuries and Neurological Disorders.

Summary: Assists in coordinating the day-to-day operations of an assigned location across Progressions. Performs this role diligently and professionally to obtain optimal resident outcomes and high satisfaction from all external and internal customers. This position reports to the Program Manager.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Attend team meetings review incident reports (IRs) report any client/staff issues to the Program Manager as needed.
  • Develop direct care staff teams as an active treatment resource to further resident growth and well-being provide new hire and on-going training to staff.
  • Coordinate resident appointment schedules ensuring each resident is properly prepared for each appointment. Organize and attend persons served appointments as appropriate.
  • Conduct all duties in a manner that demonstrates an ongoing commitment to progression community inclusion and respect for (legal civil and human) rights of the residents.
  • Evidence of a healthy awareness of client medications dosages routes administration schedules purposes side-effects and any thresholds for dispensing as needed (PRN) medications according to regulations; order refills as needed.
  • Work with the pharmacy monthly to ensure correct delivery and reconciliation of persons served medications. Ensure all persons served have MARS that are completed accurately and in its entirety. Ensure prescriptions for persons served are filled in and the prescription book is up to date.
  • Create a balanced nutritional weekly menu of meals. Develop a grocery list conforming to the monthly food budget.
  • Vigilantly safeguard the emotional and physical safety and wellbeing of the persons served at all times and under all circumstances initiating nonviolent physical crisis intervention when safety of persons served(and/or self/others) is jeopardized.
  • Vigorously maintain standards of cleanliness and orderliness ensuring the program looks and feels like a genuine home; ensure similar high regard for home environment across all shifts.
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Valid State of Michigans Drivers License and current auto insurance
  • Current CPR certification or willingness to obtain
  • One year experience in working with developmentally disabled or catastrophically injured individuals including traumatic brain injury
  • Strong communication interpersonal and problem-solving skills
  • Attention to detail and have the ability to prioritize independently
  • Ability to perform physical tasks required for patient care
  • Empathy and genuine desire to help persons served improve their quality of life

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to remain in a stationary position for long periods of time
  • Ability to walk and stand for long periods of time
  • Ability to operate computers and other office machinery
  • Ability to move objects weighing up to 50 pounds
  • Willingness to Travel 20%
